Day 031 - Project 365 Vector Characters

Day 31 – Filor

Filor is no delicate Fleur-de-lys. He lives in the pages of “The Little Princess Of Bohemia” and is a far cry from his delicate little sister fleurs. He is convinced that his place is not in a fairy tale book and so he has been training to grow big and strong and go live in the pages of “The Aru Brotherhood”, a Japanese manga comic. He just doesn’t know how to get out!

As a typography fan and all things curvy and classic, I have a love affair with Fleurs, sketching different kinds often in my moleskin. I also love inventing new kinds of scrolls and ornate dividers. I wanted to do a fleur-de-lys that was unlike any I had ever seen because they are usually so delicate and ethereal. I made a muscular one who hates being in his fairy tale book and wants to flex his muscle in some manga comic!

Time Taken : 30 minutes

Softwares : Illustrator CS 4 & Photoshop CS 4

Font for Filor : Scrypticali

In 2010, I have challenged myself to create 365 vector characters, one for each day of the year. Please Subscribe To My Feed to follow the series or Bookmark My Flickr Page to stay updated on the newest characters everyday.
