Day 81 – Rek
Rek is a wild little wall that is on the run, from the Rubblers, he doesn’t want to be caught because he doesn’t like being a wall grounded for all eternity. Every time there is a quake, he loses a brick and that is a cause of great worry for him unless he gets help.
I am not very happy with today’s character. It is possibly my least favorite of all the characters I have concocted. I was hoping to make a broken brick wall when I started out but what I visualized was not how it turned out. Ah well! There will be bad days and then there will be very bad days, the important thing to remember is that this got done today when it was supposed to.
For those of you who are following my vector series and are wondering about the bizarre posting pattern on the blog, it is because we are in the middle of a home renovation project and guess who is in charge of collecting quotes, getting things measured, talking to tradespeople, scouring local shops for materials? Me!! It is like doing an extra job and I am not getting enough computer time. So I make sure that I do my daily vector diligently and daily, leaving the posting on the blog bit to when I find a big healthy chunk of time. Still going strong, not a day behind!
Time Taken : 35 minutes
Softwares : Illustrator CS 4 & Photoshop CS 4
Font for Rek : Quicksand
In 2010, I have challenged myself to create 365 vector characters, one for each day of the year. Please Subscribe To My Feed to follow the series or Bookmark My Flickr Page to stay updated on the newest characters everyday.
