Winner of The Dribbble Giveaway on LBOI Announced

Just over two days ago, I offered to giveaway a Dribbble invite on the blog and was overwhelmed by 51 fantastic entries. It was hard! I never realized how hard it would be.As I started browsing the links you guys left in the comments, I wished I had more than one dribbble invite, I wished I had several in fact. I must have seen all entries at least 20 times before settling three to choose from. In the end I went with my gut initial reaction, my first impression of each entry as I saw it and I picked the one that stuck in my head right from the get go.

I was drafted on Dribbble by the lovely Emma Taylor of Twiggle Graphics almost 7 months ago. After a slight start, I really got into the game (no pun intended) and started enjoying the many benefits of dribbble which is a healthy community of designers and developers who work hard, who work fast and have fun along the way. For those of you who don’t know what Dribbble is, it is essentially a visual twitter for designers who share what they are working on in the moment. For those of you who obssess about it and haven’t got in yet, hang in there because you might just win an invite today!

Since joining Dribbble, I have been constantly amazed by some ridiculous talent which is on there and have had the good fortune of drafting 3 very cool guys Duane Kinsey of Logobird, Matt Ward of Echo Enduring and Lam Nguyen of Aext. Free Moleskine Icon Set For Logo Lovers And Designers

I must admit, I have an ~~unholy~~ obsession with moleskines. Any blank, inviting piece of stationery that draws you to write, sketch and create and one that is absolutely beautiful to look at in its humble simplicity, ought to be obsessed about. I have a few moleskines, not many, just a few. They seem to have endless pages and last forever. I seem to be draw to the Cahiers more than any other kind. I love their organic brown covers. I do have a hardbound mini moleskine that is red and is quite spunky and handy in my bag. Lately though, I have been drawn to the classic black ones. I have been thinking about creating a moleskine icon set for almost a year, but I also wanted it to be different. So I made one for logo designers, aficionados and addicts. This set is what my ideal Moleskine set for logo designers would look like. I will be releasing one for Illustrators shortly, but for now, enjoy these little books of gold.

These icons are free for personal and commercial use. They come in 2 sizes each 512px and 256px and are in PNG format. They are free to download, share and use in all your personal and commercial projects. Don’t put a dollar value to them, no resale allowed!

2 Fun And Free Vector Scenes For Your Design Projects

Everyday when I create new vector graphics, whether they are characters or just simple elements for a poster or website, I always find that there is a real scarcity of vector "scenes". You know the free stuff like brushes and icons that you can download and put together to present your design? I rarely come across plain, no-frills vector scenes that I can use as a blank canvas for my design.

Now, it has been a while since I offered up a freebie on the blog. I have offered Vector Scenes/Background in the past and decided to offer some more. Today, I have for you two vector scenes. They are called "Real Estate" and "Midnight Wish". They are in AI format, bundled up in a zip file. Each and every element can be taken apart and used separately or combined together in a scene. These vector graphics are absolutely FREE for all your personal and commercial projects. So have fun everyone!
