21 Extremely Useful Icon Sets For Designers

I have been working on a couple of projects lately and have been designing quick icons on and off to facilitate the design requirements. That got me thinking as to what sort of icons were available out there that would make a designer’s [or any person wanting to put together a web page] life simple. I wanted to look beyond the "Milky", "Weby", "Function" icon sets that have been abused on all lists [I especially love "Milky" and "Simplico", google them and try them out if you haven't already]. After poring through blogs of designers and design enthusiasts who are often generous with their freebies, I compiled a list of 21 fantastic icon sets that would jazz up a website layout in minutes. Most of them are free for personal and commercial use, some only allow personal use, just remember to check the terms of usage before actually using them. For simplicity and ease, I have linked most files to the artist’s deviantart pages, even though many of them have these same icons on their blogs.

Cool stuff. It’s nice to see some icon selections that aren’t the usual social media ones (particularly as, beyond Twitter, there’s very little original that seems to be done with those options). Particularly like the paper folder and moleskin options.
