Gaining inspiration at times can be an incredibly difficult and frustrating task, like writers, designers suffer a form of "writers block" which can be a major design hurdle before you even start. You will see posts around the web "9999 Of The Best CSS Galleries" which OK they can be handy and serve a purpose,

The first time I heard the word line art was in 1998 at a web development studio where Nick and I used to spend our college breaks, working on projects. I was instantly intrigued and fascinated by it. Line art is a style of graphics that consists of distinct straight or curved lines placed against

Namaste! If you are a Lost fan with an insatiable appetite for hashed and rehased theories of the flight Oceanic 815, the island and all its mysteries, the intriguing Dharma Initiative, the absolutely perfect characterizations of television’s most addictive characters like Locke and Benjamin Linus, the black smoke monster, the parallel universes, heaven and hell

Today I have rounded up 48 brilliantly creative and demented vector characters for your inspiration. When I say demented, I mean really mad and quite insane actually. I love the freedom vectors provide, the ease with which one can conjure up creatures and characters that are as weird as they are implausible. I love how

Lately I have been obsessing about character development a lot. Part of the reason is the Project 365 Vector Characters that I have undertaken. Part of the reason is my deep seated need to always give life to the whimsy, quirky, fantastically random and imaginary characters that reside inside my head. Character development is a

I have been coming across more and more "grown up" vectors that have a conscience, that tell a compelling story. The artistic expression in these vectors is amazing, the detailing in some and the impact of the artist’s thought process is awe-inspiring. A lot of them touch base with what is wrong with the society,

For a while now I have been hearing and seeing slogans that go like this "Save The Earth!", "Go Green!", "Reduce Your Carbon Imprint!", "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!". You’ll all agree with me when I speculate that these reference to actions are solely in the real world and not really in the online world. It is

I remember the time I was making vector cupcakes for my Gel’s Kitchen logo. Those were fun times indeed. Creating vector food art, especially one that is so yummy and candy-flossed that you just want to reach out and take a bite is absolutely fun. Most food vectors are overloaded with cute, gooey, sugar-coated goodness.

Badly done list posts give good designers a bad name. Like with everything else, list posts have their share of supporters and haters. A lot of established designers and bloggers talk about list posts as being recycled design garbage on the internet forgetting that they resorted to list posts when they started out. Its

I have noticed a recent rise in the number of logos designed in a retro style. Be it colors or design elements that remind you of an era past, retro logos are very charming and induce a sense of nostalgia. Swirly fonts and muted colors are a dead giveaway of a retro style. Then there

I have never watched a single part of "Saw" or "The Evil Dead" or "The Exorcist" or "Halloween" .. you get the gist. When it comes to horror movies, I scare easily. On the other hand I adore "The Blair Witch Project" and most good Asian Horror movies like "Ringu", "Ju-On", "Shutter", "The Tale Of

This week as I sauntered along the path of self-taught designery, I decided to explore some more the wonderful world of Compositions. I have been practicing the art of Composition in design for a few years now, initially starting out on digital piecing of artwork for the celebrity website that relaunches this year. My most
